Cold will on Aug. 30 release its Lava debut, "A Different Kind of Pain. The group previously recorded for several Universal Music Group labels; its most recent album, 2003"s "Year of the Spider," was issued by Flip/Geffen.
The disc reunites the band"s with guitarist Matt Loughran, who was a member of the outfit in its pre-Cold days as Grundig. That Jacksonville, Fla.-based group first caught the ear of Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, who engineered its signing to his Flip imprint. Loughran fills a revolving slot of past guitarists, including Terry Balsamo (now with Evanescence), Kelly Hayes and Eddie Rendini.
