"Jump" is the kind of song that should make reviews so straight forward, right? It’s a pop song simple; you know exactly what you’re getting before you’ve removed the CD from its case.
That’s true it sounds like pop music, if pop music was crafted to a formula that the Stereophonics had penned; start with a brooding riff, throw a catchy chorus in that distracts from the lack of verses, shout a little, have a quiet introspective lull, add a few sound effects in then sit back and count the money.
As a track it can hold its head up with pop from days gone by but in the Xenomania led 2000’s it’s lacking that distinctive touch. That The Faders have potential is clear, but whether we will ever get to see it materialize is a mystery.
