来自华盛顿柏林汉姆的四人Indie Pop乐团。Death Cab for Cutie成立于1997年，默默无闻两年之后他们签到了独立厂牌Barsuk（俄语獾熊的意思），并且成功的推出了三张专辑。乐队的名字来自英国六十年代末着名迷幻乐队The Bonzo Dog Band的处女作专辑《Gorilla》里的一首歌的名字，他们不愿对此解释过多，只说去听听那首歌就知道了。

乐队于2000年发行的专辑《We Have the Facts and We are Voting　Yes》以全新的Indie Pop姿态示人，专辑中的歌曲清新可人。多数Death Cab for Cutie的歌都像是歌者的自述，他讲的都是生活中的领悟和对未来的美好憧憬。乐队主唱Ben Gibbard说：“我们的歌曲是真诚的，也许我们会为丘比特的冷落而忧心忡忡，也许我们不会把痛苦和听众分享，但是我们只是想唱一些快乐的歌曲与别人分享。”

无疑，DCFC在主流乐坛取得重大回响，或多或少是托青春连续剧The O.C.之鸿福。曾在05年春季于片中亮相的他们，也进一步为乐迷所熟悉。其实DCFC打造出的Indie-Pop音乐一向都属于中间路线，歌曲具有美好的Hook、主脑Ben Gibbard笔下的歌词又可令二十来岁的年轻朋友听得共鸣，加上2003年前作专辑Transatlanticism达超过五十万销量，还被应邀联同Bruce Springsteen、R.E.M.、Pearl Jam等等摇滚巨星参与Vote For Change巡回演出。这支西雅图乐团注定是非池中物。

这张专辑有18首歌，这张专辑不是让新接触到DCFC的人留下深刻印象的作品，但绝对是老fans爱不释手的专辑，当中收录了很多从未发行的歌，包括1996翻唱The Smiths的《This Charming Man》有别样的感觉，还有其他歌曲是1997年5－6月录制的：President of What," "Champagne From a Paper Cup," "Pictures in an Exhibition," "Amputations," and "Line of Best Fit 这些歌后来在Something About Airplanes 中有重新演绎但这种专辑中的是original version .

这张专辑最大的卖点就是乐队对于音乐素材出众的驾驭能力，音乐虽不是很复杂，也不够凶猛，但变化多端的多层次和梦幻田园般的意境、诗意自省的词作犹如一副优美的风景画，实为养尊处优之佳品。
