　　1977年2月2日出生于哥伦比亚，本名ShakiraIsbealMebarakRipoll的Shakira，8岁时就展露其音乐神童天份，开始谱写歌曲，10岁开始参加才艺大赛并屡屡获胜，11岁开始学习吉他，并因为她的声音太过强而有力反被讲究和谐的校内合唱团给赶了出来。13岁那年，Shakira本想寻求成为模特儿的机会，结果取而代之的是令人惊喜地与Sony唱片公司在哥伦比亚的分公司签约，并于1991年发表了其首张专辑《Magia(奇迹)》，且其中便收录了她个人的创作。在发行两张专辑之后，1994年，Shakira开始转往电视屏幕发展，直到1995年才又重新回到乐界，以全新的风貌一举打响了她的知名度，在短短的数年间创下近2千万的专辑销售纪录，并获得葛莱美奖、拉丁葛莱美奖、MTV拉丁音乐奖所颁与“最佳流行女歌手”、“最佳拉丁专辑”、“年度女艺人”…等大奖肯定，建立她如今无可取代的拉丁天后地位。
