ABBA是瑞典的流行组合，成立于1973年。成员包括：比约恩·奥瓦尔斯（Bjorn Ulvaeus，1945年4月25日生于哥德堡）、本尼·安德森（Benny Andersson，1946年12月16日生于斯德哥尔摩）、阿格妮莎·福斯克格（Agnetha Faltskog，1950年4月5日生于乔克平）、安妮-弗瑞德·林斯塔德（Anni-Frid Lyngstad，1954年11月15日生于挪威的纳尔维克）。在成立乐队前，安妮和阿格妮莎已是瑞典颇有名气的独唱演员，比约恩属于Hootenanny演唱组，本尼是Hep Stars乐队的成员。后来，本尼和安妮、比约恩和阿格妮莎分别结成夫妻，并用每个人名字的第一个字母组成ABBA乐队。

ABBA的单曲《滑铁卢》（Waterloo）在1974年的欧洲电视歌曲比赛中获奖，并获得英国单曲排行榜冠军，进入美国单曲排行榜前10名。他们迅速在欧洲走红，随后是惊人的成功：连续18首歌曲进入英国单曲排行榜前10名（其中8首达到第1名），8张专辑达到排行榜第1名。第1张专辑《滑铁卢》在1974年的英国专辑排行榜列第28位；《ABBA》在1975年列第13位；《精选集集》（Greatest Hits）达到1976年的第1名并在榜上停留长达130个星期之久；《Arrival》同样达到1976年专辑榜的第1名。随后发行的专辑都是第1名：1978年的《The Album》，1979年的《Voulez-Vous》和《精选集2》（Greatest Hits Vol. 2），1980年的《Super Trouper》，1981年的《The Visitors》，1982年的双唱片《单曲集--第一个10年》（The Singles-The First Ten Years），1981年出版的《西班牙专辑》（Spanish Album）。录音工作分别在英国的Epic公司和美国的Atlantic公司进行。其中，《舞蹈皇后》（Dancing Queen）达到1976年美国单曲榜的第1名。

他们在1977年进行了第一次世界性巡回演出，1979年进行了全美国的巡回演出，他们是继"披头士"（THE BEATLES）后最成功的乐队，他们自己创作歌曲，歌词典雅，旋律优美，并且制作精细。

比约恩和阿格妮莎在1979年离婚，本尼和安妮在1981年离婚。1982年，演唱组随之解体。菲尔·柯林斯（PHIL COLLINS）为安妮制作了个人专辑《Something's Going There's Something Going On》上升到英国单曲榜第43名；由迈克·查普曼（Mike Chapman）为阿格妮莎制作的《Can't Shake Loose》在1983年达到美国单曲榜第29名。

乐队在九十年代重组，并在1999年初到北京演出。
