“芝加哥”合唱团 Chicago
“芝加哥”合唱团（Chicago）是由Te-
rry Kath 和 Walt Parazaider 在1966年组成的，起初团名曾是“the Missing Links”和“the Big Thing”，随后在名制作人的建议下正式改名为“Chicago”。1978年Terry意外身亡，贝司手肩负起主唱的职务，专辑《Chicago 17》成绩斐然。1985年Pet-er Getera离开单飞，新主Jason Sheff加入，目前Chicago的成员有Bill Champlin（键盘手，吉它手兼主唱)，Robert Lmmm（键
盘乐器兼主唱)，Lee Loughname（小喇叭手），Walt Parazaider（木管及打击乐器），Jimmy Panknow（伸缩喇叭手）Danny Sera-phine(鼓手)，Jason Scheff(贝司兼主唱)，Dawagne Bailey（吉它手）。Chicago 和Blood，Sweat And Tears这种大型编制的乐团在70年代开始惹人注目，他们以管乐摇滚（Brass Rock）为号召，来和其他的摇滚类型做分野。Chicago 的组织特征除了摇滚乐团的吉它、鼓、贝司和主唱外，另有管乐编制，所配用乐器包括了小号、长号、圆号、萨克斯等铜管乐器，它将(Big Band) 大型爵士乐队音乐风格引入摇滚的创作中，形成一种爵士摇滚的雏型。Chicago 至今已推出20余张专辑，单曲《25 or 6 to 4》,《If You Leave Me Now》，《Hard to say I'm Sorry》，《Stay the Night》，《Hard Habit to Break》，《You're the Inspiration》，《Will You Still Love Me》,《I Don't Want to Live Without Your Love》《Look Away》，《You're Not Alone》都是大众耳熟能详的歌曲。对于一个成立已达20年的乐团来说，能够屹立于流行乐坛而且历久弥新，始终保持着他们一贯的抒情曲风，实在是很难能可贵的。
